Duncan in Hard Mode is not worth the time
Hi there.
Me and my guildy managed to beat Duncan last night in HM using heroes, and the chest ended up being a complete letdown.
Don't worry, my guildy let me allow his name in the screens.
You would think that being HM you'd get double drops from it, which would include the gemstone and armor, but you don't. You still only get 1 onyx, 1 armor remnant and 2 completely random drops.
EDIT: oh and btw, Lightbringer no longer affects the dwarves in Slavers.

It doesn't affect anything at all, at the moment. It's bugged in DoA too.
Big disappointments about the drops really, thought it would be on par with HM DoA, so at least 2 Onyx.

Why would hero's effect the chest? Never has anywhere else.

Heroes affect reward chests in FoW. It's best to flag them away.
But in GW:EN Dungeons, Heroes have no effect on the chest drops.

There is one reason to do Duncan in HM...
Mastery of the North points. That's about it. Out of curiosity, anyone know if you have to do all parts of the dungeon in HM to get credit in your Hard Mode dungeon book, or just Duncan?

Quote guildwiki: Random loot found within final dungeon chests is doubled from what is given in Normal Mode
so it only affects the random loot.

I'm curious as well. I'm guessing the N/Me is a SS and the others would be Sab's builds ( http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10202023 )
But it does seem a bit overkill in terms of healing, so maybe it's a different build?

interesting that its not working in DoA? that one bothers me a little....
BUt as far as Duncans. thats been listed as a bug for some time. I was expecting that to get changed eventually... BUt I'm a little disturbed that DoA is getting effected by this fix. ;( its never good to see one bug fixed only to gain another.

A part of it was Sab's build. We ran 2 SS, 1 SV, a vengeful/remedy spammer, a nuker and monks.

*sigh* I hate when people do this Bull Sh*t, no one is ever polite anymore (most everyone).
I guess I missed where Anet listed that heros/henchies don't effect dungeon chests can anyone post a link?

Very good question!
The prerequisite to go to duncan is having done the previous dungeons. But the quest itself does not differentiate between normal and hard mode.
So if you finish the final part of the quest in hard mode or better, just get Duncan's Chest in hard mode, it will probably count.
But this needs to be confirmed, just my theory.
